Halton Children’s Water Festival

Project objectives:

The Halton Children’s Water Festival combines Ontario curriculum requirements and offers fun, hands-on learning activity centers that are displayed throughout the event in a natural outdoor setting.  60 interactive activity centers teach children about water conservation and protection, water health and safety, water science and technology, and water and society.

From yearly participant feedback, we recognize the festival is making an impact.  Teachers feel their students are receiving programming that “provides outdoor learning opportunities connected to Science Curriculum (Air and Water) in an interactive, engaging way.”

Our event is educating and inspiring youth on important issues of conservation within the Halton watershed.  Beyond our student participants, the event is also building awareness for these issues within the broader community by advocating through school boards, connecting with local business via our supporter social event for funders, and through a robust event communications plan.
